Lest We Forget

The Victorian Branch of the South African Military Veterans Organisation of Australasia laid a wreath in remembrance to those who paid  the supreme sacrifice during military action. The wreath was a garland of Proteas in a circle depicting eternal life and similar in design to our banner and cap badge depicting Proteas, the national flower of South Africa.

The ceremony commenced at 10h00 with the South Africans marching behind members of Waverley RSL Australian National Serviceman’s Association, led by the Hawthorn City Pipe Band.   The ceremony was attended by Veterans Mike Black, Max Newman and Chester Allan supported by their wives.
